I enjoy them, they move my spirit at times, they are fun to dance to and easy to get goofy and silly to. I was really happy they were around after Jerry passed away. The music filled a void for me. They are more in the Zappa mode though, than the Dead mode. I have seen them several times and had a great time, though it is not really my crowd or my band like the Grateful Dead crowd and band or Allman Brothers are. Man, I just feel that GD fans are often way too serious about the whole thing. I haven't heard as many Phish shows as Dead shows, but they don't seem to have the terrible shows that the Dead have had many a time. Variety is the spice of life. The Dead move my soul, Phish puts me in a happy space and Umphrey's McGhee may just blow them both away.

That's because a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, as they say. And GD definitely had its fair share of weak links over the years.
